Let’s face it: New Year’s resolutions just don’t work.
In fact, according to a recent study by the University of Scranton, only 8% of people who make New Year’s resolutions each year actually keep them.
We know you can do better. And we’re here to help you do just that.
We’re launching a challenge for 2015 that will empower you to turn one of your big goals into a reality — not by making vague resolutions that are impossible to keep, but by identifying concrete, doable action steps you can take each day to make progress and build momentum.
If you’re sick of writing the same resolutions on your to-do list each year and never making them happen, now is your opportunity to change that.
Create Your Own Streak
Starting on January 1, 2015, we challenge you to 56 Days of Giving It All — to complete one small step, each day, in pursuit of your goal for 56 consecutive days.
- If you want to lose weight, it could mean exercising for 20 minutes, every day, for 56 days.
- If you want to eat right, it could mean giving up sugar, every day, for 56 days.
- If you want to write a novel, it could mean sitting down and typing for 30 minutes, every day, for 56 days.
You don’t have to be perfect. You may get winded during your first workouts; you may have days when all you type is nonsense. But the point is showing up and giving your best each day, without exception. The further you get into the challenge, the more you’ll start seeing just how powerfully this sort of commitment pays off.
Small steps can lead to great things. The “Give It All” mindset can lead to great things. This challenge is your opportunity to see that in action — and to learn some great tips and strategies along the way that you can apply to other areas of your life once this challenge is over.
We love the number 56 because of what it represents. Our namesake Joe DiMaggio’s legendary 56-game hitting Streak was the perfect example of what it takes to achieve something incredible: commitment, discipline and a focus on giving your best in the here and now.
Taken in its entirety, a hitting streak this impressive seems like an overwhelming goal. If Joe DiMaggio had stepped up to the plate each game hoping to make history, he could have easily psyched himself out. Instead, he focused on Giving It All in each moment — hitting each pitch, bringing his best to each at-bat. And over time, each at-bat added up to something amazing.
We believe approaching your big goals the same way can help you achieve something amazing. And we’d love to see what you can do.
We challenge you to forget New Years resolutions and instead do something that works this coming year. We challenge you to create your own Streak and see how the power of small steps and daily habits can build to a big transformation.

Your Streak Tools
Download Your 56 Day Calendar
The easiest way to track your Streak, view your progress and keep your motivation high as you see the power of positive momentum in action? Download the free 56 day calendar, put it somewhere you’re sure to see it, and check off each day. (You can also use it to enter our Contest — see below for more details!)
Get the App
To help you create your Streak, we recommend the app Goal Streaks by Peer Assembly. We’ve used it ourselves and have found it to be a great tool to help us keep our Streaks going. The prompts are especially helpful — set them to remind you every day to drop and do those push ups (or whatever daily step you’ve committed to). Seeing your progress visually on this app can also help you focus on doing whatever it takes to NOT break your Streak.
